The Programme of Innovation Managers, created in 2008, has improved its methodology and content by adapting them to the new models and realities of the Canary Islands and integrated within the framework of digital transformation.
The aim is to provide strategies and tools that favour innovative and entrepreneurial culture in business environments, develop creative thinking to generate new ideas and achieve new achievements, solve problems and create new products and services.
This programme helps to understand the new paradigm of " innovation and technology management " applied in business models, to integrate the capacity to manage innovation within the framework of overall business management, to enhance the value of technology in Canarian companies and research centres and to identify and facilitate potential marketing opportunities for developing technologies.
With this training programme, the beneficiaries learn to integrate the capacity to manage innovation within the framework of the digital management of companies and to understand digital marketing strategies.
The registration system was carried out electronically and the network has a database with the registration of new graduates trained as innovation managers, identified by their personal profile, age, gender and/or province. This tool provides companies with detailed training information on the personnel available in the Canary Islands.
Online education, at all levels of the programme, has helped to reach far more people, especially in the non-capital islands, and the Moodle platform, known in universities, has offered the course in the Campusvirtual. The Innovation Managers Programme 2016-2017 has helped to carry out more than 30 diagnoses of innovation and digital transformation in companies and innovative research groups in the Canary Islands, such as PLOCAN, Mediteknia and SubseaMechatronics. The University Foundation of Las Palmas trained 1,670 managers under the Management Training Programme between 2016 and 2017. In 2017, 1,300 students were trained in Innovation and 370 in Digital Transformation.
