Integrated project EDUSI Córdoba.
This action makes it possible to access the garden from one of the most important areas of the city of Córdoba, where the remains of the ancient Roman temple dedicated to the divinity of Augustus and the building corresponding to the City of Córdoba, the nerve centre of the city, are located. This access has allowed us to enter the Orive Garden-Orchard from a dominant perspective, helping to understand the strategic location of the temple and its connection to the Roman Circus (much of which is located under the Orive Gardens).
Fromsde the tourist point of view it supposes an opportunity to know and interpret our heritage since the Roman era (Temple, Walls, Roman circus, causeway, passing through the Muslim period (Almohad district) and Christian (Convent and Church of St. Paul, Orive Palace, etc.),
This action improves the state of conservation of the historical heritage by enhancing the value of an unknown door in the Renaissance style, forgotten and greatly damaged, which will contribute to the recovery of the historical knowledge of the so-called Saint Paul's apple. In addition, it will contribute to enhancing the value of the rest of the Convent of San Pablo, since it has the possibility of communicating with the public space acquired by expropriation, being able to admire from the route the different private spaces of the same, patios, interior facades, etc.
From an environmental point of view, consideration has been given to the need to accompany the route of vegetable and tree elements that contribute to the landscape and bioclimatic improvement of the new space open to pedestrian traffic. The natural elements have been distributed in such a way as to coexist areas of solana and areas of perpetual shade (existing building).
With the incorporation of vegetable elements and improvement of accessibility conditions from the c/Capitulars by means of accessible ramps (given the large gap between the garden and the new access, of almost 5 metres), the visitor is invited to make the crossing to a friendly space such as the Orive Garden-Orchard, consolidated as a large natural lung inside the old city.
In addition to the appropriate signage with projected artificial lighting, based on simple columns equipped with low-consumption and addressable luminaire projectors, in order to illuminate various scenes of interest that we find on the route (Convent Façade, Capitular Room, Renaissance Façade, etc.), avoiding the appearance of artificial shadows, as well as undesirable glare and indirect and sufficient lighting in the covered passage under the convent, which will invite traffic safely.
