This action aims to promote a low-carbon economy in the metropolitan area of Seville, including the promotion of sustainable multimodal urban mobility and efficient public transport adaptation measures, with mitigation effect. It responds to a need to develop sustainable transport models in urban and metropolitan areas and to the need to promote sustainable urban mobility: clean urban transport, collective transport, improvements to the intermodal connection, extension of the existing metro network.

This is intended to strengthen the intermodal connectivity of the various public transport systems in the city of Seville L1 on the Seville Metro and TUSSAM, which in turn includes the Bus and Metrocentro systems. The interconnection with line 1 of the Seville metro will take the metro to 40% of the population and will connect the north of the city, the populous neighbourhood of Pino Montano with the Prado de San Sebastián and the whole historical round, as well as with Nervión and Los Remedios, in addition to Montequinto and the Aljarafe.

It will also assist in the decongestion of road traffic in the city, improving the level of service of the main road corridors north of the city, Ronda Norte SE-30, and Super Norte SE-20 and allowing connection with the Virgen Macarena University Hospital, and facilitating access to hospitals: Hospital de San Lázaro, Hospital Victoria Eugenia de la Cruz Roja and María Auxiliadora Specialities Centre. The project takes into account mitigation and adaptation to climate change and disaster resilience.
