'Smart City' means implementing solutions for the innovation and improvement of public services offered to citizens and thereby achieving progress in the transformation of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura into an intelligent territory. The main contribution of the project relates to the fundamental objective of establishing the population in rural areas, thus avoiding depopulation, by promoting the implementation of advanced technological applications and services in smaller municipalities in Extremadura. It promotes the integration of advanced technologies and allows for a comprehensive and multi-level implementation, which generates synergy and is innovative at all levels: Economic, assuming economic savings for the municipal entity and boosting the business sector with new business opportunities. Social, providing all citizens with accessible and open public resources, reducing the social gap and promoting the establishment of evidence in rural areas. Environmental, involving greater knowledge of the resources needed and available, implementing them more efficiently and contributing to the climate challenge. The project is easily transferable, adaptable and extrapolable to any municipality, area or region, since the lines of action are broad enough to cover the wide range of specific needs that stakeholders have, as well as not delimiting the type of technology and services to be implemented, therefore, this project aims to avoid depopulation and have greater access to services by citizens, transforming into intelligent villages those localities that decide to face a process of digitalization and change, organizational, technological, economic and social, with the vision of transforming themselves into a dynamic locality, capable of responding with efficiency and quality to the new expectations demanded by society through innovation and the use of technology.
